Text Characteristics - Score Reviews
- Purpose & amount of text
An average page that includes a review can vary from 300 - 800 words per page. The pager is quite lengthy as can be viewed by the scroll bar on the right hand side.
- Form of text
The text has a main block of prose as it is giving a review of a movie score. There are other areas of text such as Track listings. Other textual areas such as advertisements can also be found and also links to other content on the website.
- Text Layout
The text layout on the page is very well justified and is very clear. There are very clearly indentations or margins used as the page displays well on the screen and has no textual areas running close to the page edges.
- Text Formatting Mechanisms
It is clear what the purpose of each text area is from a quick glance as they are all clearly titled. There are one or two areas that are clearly tools specific to the site such as a tool for the user to give ratings on tracks. This may not be immediately obvious as to what it’s function is if a user just suddenly arrived on the page with no knowledge of the website’s purpose.
- Font Colour & Size
The textual size is 12 points and is black on a cream background. The same colour schemes seem to be uniform throughout the page with side areas of text appearing a in a burgundy to make them stand out and help separate the textual areas on the page.
