Myspace has a massive structure which is a combination of all of the discussed structures. Firstly, the user generated content (i.e. profiles) of the website uses a web structure, in which users can freely navigate between the different available sections and pages contained within the website; you can go from your homepage to music, then on to video, then back to your homepage for example.
The non-user generated content of the website which requires that there is only a sequential structure, such as the sign up process, and also the processes involved in uploading media onto your site such as songs. These require a sequential structure as you start off with the upload page, then once this is done it moves to a page stating that it has been uploaded, allowing the user to then freely move around the website again.
The other parts which are non-user generated, which can be described as the “menu” which appears at the top of the screen, makes use of a hierarchical structure, with different sections such as search, music, blogs, favourites etc. as from these top level points, the user navigates down from this point through the different topical parts of the website.
