Idiomag has a hierarchical structure which makes the website simple and easy to use. The website has 'tabs' with which to browse the website, taking you to your user preferences, your magazine, preferences page, a support page as well as a blog page from the makers of the website which allows you to keep up to date with any news from the developers. These tabs work from a hierarchical structure with each tab then containing the relevant information beneath the tab.
Each section of the website is very relevant, and is a good example of the use of a hierarchical structure. The website also makes use of a web/sequential structure within the magazine part itself. It gives the user the option to use a sequential way of navigating by actually turning the pages of the magazine by the corner, as well as this the website displays use of a web based structure as below the magazine’s pages, it give a list of pages framed in small magazine icons which the user can use to navigate to whatever part of the magazine they like. This has been made with both parts in mind to give the user the full magazine experience in that they can simply turn through the magazine page by page, or they can simply choose a page, as if they were flicking to the bit of the magazine that they need.
The other parts which are non-user generated, which can be described as the “menu” which appears at the top of the screen, makes use of a hierarchical structure, with different sections such as search, music, blogs, favourites etc. as from these top level points, the user navigates down from this point through the different topical parts of the website.
