Site Structure - A List Apart
- Brief Structural Analysis
- A List Apart uses a ‘web’ structure, with navigational sections at both the top and right-hand side of the site, allowing access to any major part of the site at all times. As the website has been constructed by some of the top names in web development and design, it serves as a exceptional example of how a web site with large amounts of textual information can be successfully run.
- The majority of the front page displays the most recently posted articles, with a tab in the top frame allowing immediate access to previous articles. This is a good example of a web based structure; if you are reading an article it is possible to navigate with one click to the global ‘Articles’ page, global ‘Topics’ page (including a broken down version of the topics tab in the side bar), the ‘About’ page, ‘Contact’ page, ‘Contribution’ page and an RSS feed page.
